Hearts and Flowers

Materials needed:

Pink colored Oasis
Large, medium and small heart shaped cookie cutters
Pink roses or pink carnations (example design uses hot pink carnation s)
Nandina or rose greenery (example design used Nandina greenery)
Oval-shaped glass container (example container is 10” h x8”w x3”d)

Directions:

-Soak 1/3 brick of pink colored Oasis
-Slice Oasis into slabs approximately 2” wide
-Using cookie cutters, cut one large heart shape from Oasis, and several heart shapes in each of the other sizes
-Place largest heart shaped Oasis in container, on side (with point of heart to outside)
-Place several of the other small and medium heart shapes in the container
-Place tallest flower in lg. Oasis Heart so that it exceeds depth of container by more than half the height of container (in this example, flower
     exceeds by 6”).
-Place a piece of greenery so that it is behind and just taller than first flower
-Continue placing flowers in a slightly staggered line, watching placement so that spacing isn’t exact between flowers.
-Depending on container, you may need, as in the example, to have some interest in lower part of design by making design a modified “L” shape with greenery and buds.
