Horizontal with Wire Armature

DIRECTIONS

-Insert wire armature in container (Fig 1)

-Using armature to hold stems, place first gladiola horizontally so that flower extends 12” beyond container and stem rests on both sides of rim.  (Fig 2)

-Insert second gladiola, cut several inches shorter than the first, so that it extends horizontally, just above the first. (Fig 2)

-Cluster Carnations, making “round mound, wrapping stems with floral tape, cut and insert into armature to balance gladiola. (Fig 3)

-Add fern where needed for balance

NOTES:
-Beaded wire armature “collars” are available at Floral and craft shops in the Bridal section.  -Try making your own by “tangling” metallic wires that you have strung pearls and/or crystals and beads on.
-If using a clear glass container, the armature will fit inside and add interest as well as hold the stems of your plant materials.
