Super Bowl

Why not surprise that football lover of yours with this design?  Use your favorite teams’ colors.  Put a “goalpost” at both ends of the tray and fill with your favorite snacks.  Yeah Team…Go…Fight…Win!!!

Materials needed:

Thin bamboo, garden stakes, reeds, or long stems without foliage (from flowers)
Raffia
Needlepoint (cup-holder type) or oasis
Football-shaped snack bowl or “stadium” tray (available at Party stores)
Three stems, “Football” mums, Gerberas or other large daisy-type flower
Landscape greenery

Making the “Uprights” (goalposts)
-Cut reeds into three sizes:  20”, 16”, and 12”
-Lay the two longer reeds flat on work surface, bottoms even
-Cross “uprights” at a slight diagonal with the 12” reed, letting
ends extend about 3” past the “uprights”.  Tie into place with raffia.

Making the Touchdown and the Point After
-Place goalpost legs in needlepoint.
-Place greenery at base of shorter leg of goal post in somewhat triangular fashion (largest leaf behind goalpost leg)
-Place one flower, without foliage, directly behind and slightly taller than tallest “goal post” leg; place second flower directly in front of and slightly shorter than cross bar on same side as first flower.
-Cut stem of third flower short and place low, among the greenery.
