Avon Park Correctional Institution

Avon Park has been part of our "Therapy Through Plants" for over fourty five years.  Classes given by club members and speakers include information on basic planting to floral design with a standard flower show in odd number years.  Please plan a visit by contacting Officer James Watson, Nursery Supervisor, at Avon Park Correctional Institute, P O Box 1100, Avob Park  33826-1100.

This nationally recognized award winning  program was established in the early 1960's.  There is a botanical garden on Parrish Island APCI and bricks are sold to pave the floor of a shelter on the Island.  All profits from the sale of the bricks will be used the for Prison Therapy Through Plants Program.  Brick order form.pdf

Join us by teaching a class, or bring the whole club for a brown bag lunch and eat at the pavilion at the Bontical Garden and enjoy nature.
