Plant
and care for Butterfly and Vegetable Gardens. This continues to
be popular with young children. Some schools have applied for and
received Grants to assist in developing gardens that can be continued
year after year. With each Grant, new things can be added to make
a beautiful garden..
Adopt a SCHOOL GROUND in your community and establish a campus cleanup
program in connection with Keep America Beautiful with some form of
incentive for students who participate by helping to keep the campus
clean. Children and young people always enjoy competition and
reward.
Continue to observe Arbor Days, both Florida and National, by planting
trees. There are are many trees that would really improve
School Grounds and local County Agents have brochures that will suggest
types, when to plant and the care of such trees in each area.
